Fragrance for the way we live. BeCandle is an independent fragrance and lifestyle brand rooted in Sai Kung, Hong Kong since 2012. Founded by product designer Xavier Tsang, we have been crafting premium fragrance products and candles for 15 years. Today, we bring together our own home fragrances and scent objects with a curated selection of personal fragrance and lifestyle products. Our work also extends to custom fragrance experiences for brands and spaces.We see fragrance as part of everyday life: the atmosphere of a room, a personal expression, or a familiar detail that makes a place feel like yours. Hong Kong roots, global vision

What began as a small workshop in Sai Kung has grown into an independent fragrance brand recognised by design-conscious retailers, hospitality groups, and collaborators internationally. BeCandle combines Hong Kong’s energy with a calm, coastal sensibility, offering fragrances that reflect the city’s landscapes, streets, and stories.​

BeCandle operates its own candle and aroma production factory in Hong Kong, allowing full control over quality, consistency, and
small-batch experimentation. A dedicated team of craftspeople hand-pour, finish, and check each product with care, ensuring every candle leaves the factory meeting our standards for scent throw, appearance, and burn performance.​

Fragrance at the centre of everyday life

A fragrance can become part of a daily routine without asking for much attention. It might be the perfume you reach for before leaving home, a scent that welcomes you back, or the candle you light when the day begins to slow.For us, lifestyle is not a particular look. It is the relationship we develop with the things we use and the places we spend time in. We are interested in objects that earn their place through how they feel, how they function and what they mean to the person living with them.Fragrance connects these experiences. It allows us to move between the personal and the shared, from something worn close to the skin to an atmosphere experienced by everyone in a room.

What we create and what we curate

BeCandle’s own collections explore different ways of living with scent. Our home fragrances include scented candles, aroma oils, reed diffusers and room and fabric sprays. Alongside them, scent objects and design collaborations explore how fragrance can be experienced through form, material and movement.Our shop also brings together selected perfumes and lifestyle products from other brands. These include personal fragrances alongside objects and products for everyday living. Creation and curation are complementary parts of BeCandle. Making allows us to develop our own ideas. 15 years of fragrance craft

Our experience in crafting premium fragrance products and candles gives BeCandle’s broader lifestyle direction a practical foundation. We understand fragrance through making: working with materials, refining formulations and considering how a product performs in everyday use.Today, we operate an in-house fragrance lab and our own candle and aroma production facility in Hong Kong, keeping design closely connected to making.Our work with fragrance partners and material suppliers supports experimentation in small batches. Candle-making remains an important part of this practice. Our team hand-pours and finishes the candles, with attention to scent diffusion, appearance and burn performance.This production expertise informs a broader interest in how fragrance works in use. The scent matters, but so does its delivery: the vessel, the format and the way a person interacts with it. We consider these as parts of the same experience.Our Hong Kong production story relates to BeCandle’s own making practice. The independent brands we curate bring their own origins and methods, described on their respective product pages.

Fragrance for brands and spaces

The same interest in everyday experience extends to our work with businesses. Through BeCandle Aroma Lab, we develop custom scents and ambient fragrance experiences for hospitality, retail and other shared spaces.This work considers how a scent relates to a brand’s identity and to the place in which it will be experienced. Our services include fragrance development and scent diffusion solutions.
