According to Pliny the Elder, the name Artemisia derives from Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Artemisia could be said to be the essence par excellence of women and the celebration of their tenacity, strength, and importance. Thus, a name, a program. Artemisia Gentileschi paints her Danae at rest, her Mary Magdalene, and her Lucretia with devastating realistic dynamism, recounting with her brush the rebellion and redemption of the female gender. However, the distinctive features of Artemisia essential oil are its evocative nature and, according to Eastern legends, its ability to realign the human chakras.
